Jun 08, 2009  i have sims 3 sims 3 townlife stuff and sims 3 outdoor livin. My original sims 3 dont work cauze of scratches to it and the other two do work but they dont because when i press play on the launcher it says there is no disk in but there is. Apr 09, 2011 Has anyone had problems with the Sims 3 disc not being recognized by their DVDRom/Blu-Ray drive? I've updated my drivers, and it recognizes a normal DVD movie. Not too sure what the problem is, unless it's the game itself. I learned this from a lot of study and research online when I couldn't get my disc-based SIMS 3 to work on my Mac. I like the game, but caution, if you're using Mac, it's better to buy it online via download than buy discs and go thorough all the hassle later of having to download anyway to make it work. It is always stored in (for 64bit, 32bit is similar but the exact name is different) C:usersyournamedocumentsElectronic ArtsThe Sims 3, and this is standard procedure for any game. • If The Sims 3 base game isn't in the folder and is it's own little thing (application), then do it anyways just without the file.
• I just tried this but it did not work for me =( I am trying to play the seasons game and it lets me go all the way through the intro, but when I get to the choose family page it says no disc found, insert the sims seasons before proceeding. I have tried other computer games and DVD's and they all work so I am not sure what the problem is. The game worked when I installed it in July and now it simply will not work. Help!

  @Jordy394 You need to register your Sims 3 games on Origin and download the digital version of whatever the EP you're playing is. Once you do that, the Disk error vanishes. There are instructions in the Mac User's Best Friend thread stickied at the top of this Forum.
