Game Crashes When I Load On Mac

So Citra has been working fine for me for the past few months. Yesterday it auto-updated. I got another game and suddenly when I try launching games the whole app crashes (I'm on a Mac) and it tells me the app closed unexpectedly. I've scoured the web trying to find solutions on common topics in forums but no luck. The game itself is not very demanding for the computer and it can run it easily but constant crashes, freezes and black screen issues takes the fun away. Here are some similar errors which share similar causes and solutions as the problem regarding constant crashes we are describing in this article.

I restarted my computer, and tried to play it again. The game loads fine but when im in the main menu and try to select the last save point I played it crashes to desktop. So now I cant even play. Game Crashes When I Load On Mac Laptop
I've exhausted my sources for help, so I hope perhaps one of you can be brilliant. I am using a 2011 2.2GHz 15' MBP with a AMD 6750M and playing the game under mac OS. Because the GPU is new and unsupported by the game, Aspyr refused to help.

Apparently, it is related to the size file size and progression of the game. When you first start a game, you can load from saved games perfectly fine until approximately turn 30-40. Then the game crashes to desktop every time when I try to load from a previous game while still in game.
Any one share my problem? Any one know a fix?
