I know, it's really odd, but the only thing new on my computer is TS2, 4 and Origin. Apart from patches/updates, I mostly keep it offline as I use my iPad for internet. I'll try to disable it first, and if that fails, I'll try and uninstall it as a test. - Yes, Origin starts and immediately tries to log you in on start up. You can change this in your computer's options. When I woke for the first time, when I slept for the last.
- Probably because Origin is set to boot on startup, you can turn that off. Also its wise to close down unwanted things in task manager.
- disable origin on start-up and see if it helps
although it should not be taking 7-8 minutes to launch programs especially on a computer with those specs even with origin loading on launch - I just thought of this , maybe your hard drive is failing? I'd check it, even new hard drives can fail. Failing hard drives can cause issues like that, slow program startups.

Yikes..that's true, scary but true! I'll see if I can take a look. I'm not the most technical person out there, but I use my PC for music production too so I'd better do some backing up and get digging into the problem! Thank youBah! I can't get my signature image to show no matter what! Help!

I started by opening Origin, and it updated to version 9.5.12.2862 - 364867 (copy-pasted this version part within the 'about' section of Origin itself). I thought this was odd since the start, because I had already updated it last week, which was the last time that I played The Sims 4. After that, I logged in and went to My Games, like I usually do. The 'Play' button on The Sims 4 is just.. grayed out. I can't play it no matter what I do, not even after I clicked on the game's icon on my desktop. I was able to play the game just fine last week.
After doing a bit of research, I found out that some people had issues with Origin's latest patch, so I don't know if that's the problem. I tried following some steps, such as ticking the 'Update to the beta version when available' option within Origin, restarting my laptop about 3 times, deleted all of my mods (in case those were the problem).. I even tried uninstalling Origin and reinstalling it once more. But again, nope.. Nothing's working. It keeps updating even after I updated it. I want to leave 'reinstalling the game' as my last resort, if possible..
What do I do? :(
